What is Another Place?
You've probably been there but you don't remember.  You might have pictures of it from when you were last there all those long years ago.  It's a place not so different from our own and all it takes to get there is you.  Remember what it's like to swim through the skies of Another Place, to run along the ocean floor, to find adventure and mystery everywhere you look.
Here in this journal, we will record those memories and discover Another Place all over again.

Pixel Me

I've been obsessed with pixel illustrations lately and finally decided I would try one of myself.  The first couple of attempts didn't go so well.  I was having a difficult time with how wide each feature should be.  I finally ended up with something I liked.

I created the pixel illustration in Illustrator.  I used the "snap to grid" feature in order to keep the pixels in proper alignment.  My hair is even crazier today.  I need a haircut.

Thinking about why I liked pixel art I realized I prefer the more pixilated, abstract forms best.  For me, I like using these simple shapes (dare I say "building blocks") to create and represent a forms.  It's a surprisingly addictive way to create.  Here's a few other uses of pixel art.  The 3 Square pixel painting is my favorite.
